After the duel with James Beverly Risque in Fincastle, Va., Thomas Beale, SENIOR skedaddled on down to New Orleans, LA. He had a tavern in the French Quarter, and became CAPTAIN of Beales Rifles, during the Battle of New Orleans. OTHER notables in that battle were Paschal Buford, CAPTAIN of US ARMY Artillery; Maj. James Beverly Risque, on staff of Gen. Andrew Jackson; the Lafitte Brothers (Pirates/Privateers/Spies); who else "connected" to the Beale "story"...? Did THEY conspired to steal GOLD & bury it in LA, then Virginia...? Hmmm...
Reckon "Big Scoop" can share the Lafittes "workings"...
