This was found near Quincy Bay in Massachusetts.. It has "Boston 95" on it and on the left side where the piece is cut off it has "tion" maybe spelling constitution... 1795? 1895? the picture looks too be maybe Boston Harbor?? Supposedly there was a-lot of War of 1812 activity in the area I was hunting near the bay but this was the only artifact I found. Any ideas of what this could be?

I think it could be a souvenir of the Christian Endeavor convention in Boston in 1895. Note the CE on the flag.

Wow.. Now that is interesting indeed! I just pulled this up: Christian Endeavor began extensive publications in 1886. World conventions were held to address major issues. In 1887, Clark was elected president of the United Society, and in 1895 he was chosen as the World President of the Christian Endeavor Union.

Thanks a bunch! It sure does look like it. I would have never figured that out!! :occasion14:

Thanks!! I was really hoping too find some War of 1812 artifacts. I spent a few days in Mass. mostly Boston and had 1 full day too hunt and researched this spot near Quincy Bay that I thought would produce some War of 1812 stuff, but this seems typical for me sometimes I won't end up finding something I am looking for but something so out of the norm. You truly really never know what you are gonna find when you crank up the detector!! Best wishes!
