Hey Rick, regarding posting, I was thinking of doing a monthly post starting the first of the year. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Happy hunting.
Wow! Cool find!I think I'm done for the winter... we'll see did get out last friday before my club meeting did the park above Victory Field and it's wooded. I found an area that had been the site of a kids fort when I was young. Swung the detector around and found a cache or spill. The container was gone rotted probably. Broken Jackknife, some brass pieces, A Walker, 2 Mercs, a War nickel, 4 Wheats That was good enough for Find of the Month 1900 and later coins category . Worth a Franklin as prize. Went to the Bank yesterday to count up the years Silver finds 161 + Ounces not bad for CRH and Detecting also the remains of my Mothers collection.

Happy Hunting All !!
I see your a newer member here. Just curious, how do you search for new spots? I have been driving by old fields and houses for over a year - drooling - I have a Bounty Hunter that my wife got as a gift because she saw me sparking a real interest in the hobby. I refused to knock on doors or search fields with it because it is a really cruddy machine, sounds rude but it was a very nice gift and I have used the machine alot, now its time to upgrade
After joining this forum I learned about Historic Map Works ,I'm not sure if you have used it before - but this website allows you to get into an archive of old maps that you type in, and you can overlay them onto the current google maps, then use a scroll bar on the right to change the opacity of the old map so you can see whats there now, and what used to be there. this is an awesome resource that ive been using.
