Howdy! I went out yesterday and hunted an old SH but didn't find much... I moved to the other side of the field where there was a early-mid 1800s house foundation and I found this but after about 15 minutes of hunting the foundation my detector died so I am going to go back today. I think it is a keyhole cover from a William Wilcox and Company heart lock but I don't know. Any guesses on how old it is/confirmation on my guess?
Thanks, happy hunting and have fun social distancing... I think this year is going to be one of the forums most productive seasons.

Thanks DCMatt! Any idea of how old it is?

EDIT: I found somewhere where it says they changed the name of the company in 1875 and that would put the date of manufacture sometime between 1845 and 75.
