Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
The past couple of days I have found 2 different jars buried in 2 different parks. The mason jar was full of green stuff was found at a older park. The red one was found at a newer park. I thought they would be pickled something. NOPE.

The green one had spice sticks and a tied up piece of lace with 2 sets of photos of a man and a women. The red one had two sewn figures with faces and a "X" over their hearts. They were tied together with a piece of cloth and some sticks of something in between them.

I've only been metal detecting since April so I don't know if this is common or not. Do other find crazy items like this?

Happy Hunting!

I've never heard of anyone finding such a weird thing

it does remind me of an eBay hoax/ phenomenon
from a few years back, the famous" Ghost in a Jar" which was a painted up fruit jar buried by an old graveyard or something

I also found 2 voodoo dolls strapped together with pins stuck in them everywhere & a picture of a heart ripped in half. It was found in a forest preserve. I just threw it away. Didn't want to keep that find.

Hi'ya Lefty,

I love Voodoo Love Jars. I've been digging bottles a long while, and never found any hoodoo stuff, darn it.

I think the probability of unpleasant contents would have prevented me from cracking them open. Were you able to determine that there was bizarre contents prior to opening?

The photographic images look late 20th Century. Are they? There may be date codes on the base or heel of the jars.

In this age of instant everything, I see you can purchase a kit: il_570xN.491878110_6jj6.jpg Honey Jar for Love Hoo Voo Voo Doo Santeria

I'm not entirely sure that the person / or persons burying these was following the proper directions: Magic Spells

That is two weird finds. Ya'll keep that out west the best that you can please. Good luck and be safe. HH

The one with the photos, the green one, I thought were pickled veggies. It had a real nice pleasant soap smell after being opened. The photo looks like from the 1980's to me, they were on processed film and a 2nd copy that was from a copier.

OH NOOOOOOO, :sad5:now you maybe CURSED, FOR OPENING THEM!!!!:evil6: :dontknow:

Just joking, I don't believe in that stuff, but it seems if you want to cast a love spell on someone your enamored with, you just put stuff like you found in a jar and bury it and hope some crazy metal detectorist

As long as you don't dig it up and it's a picture of YOU! lol. muhahahaha

cool finds ! if it were me I'd swap their wives/GF's
& rebury them :laughing7:

Think I saw a thread once, "what's the weirdest thing you ever dug"

YOU WIN !!!

never dug or even heard of such a thing.

They should put some silver and gold in the jars "for good luck"

That is definitely interestingly strange alright! Haven't found anything like that and kinda glad lol
