Vision Analyze Screen Photo of Large Iron Please!

Hi Vision Users,

Would someone please take a moment and run a large piece of iron by their coil and describe how the frequency waves look, what order they respond? A photo would be perfect, but anything would be very much appreciated. Any old rusty artifact/implement would do, even a hammer I suppose.

I'm trying to figure out if the Vision analyze screen would be helpful identifying large rusty ( 7-8 inches long X 1" diameter) mining bits, similar size spikes, large flat iron or what have you where I detect in mining areas.

I read here that large iron will give three separate straight lines instead of the typical sine waves. Would like confirmation if that would be possible. Thankyou,

Yep...that's what you get....lines straight across. Part of the analyze screen is probable size of target. A tight sinewave would indicate a smaller object...the larger the base of the sinewave, the bigger the target. For iron, the high frequency line would be the top line in the wave pattern.

On railroad spikes, which I detected...it was just flat lines all the way across the screen...no wave pattern at all. Likewise, on a bottle cap, you'd have a tighter sinewave but the VDI would be a negative number and the high frequency line would be the topmost line.

This is something I really liked Jim. In search mode, bottle caps rang up like a quarter +85, but analyze mode showed a negative VDI. :thumbsup:
