Virgin Confederate Site packs a BIG Southern Punch

Hello Guys, this post is the result of a weekend scouting hunt with my buddy James Bibb. The location was a prospective site we were looking at and so we went to

do some 'prospective' digging...all the while knowing that a handful of Confederate buttons had already been found at this site. After putting a few detectors down

to the ground, we quickly realized that this site was virgin we thought, and mostly Confederate as we were hoping for. Sites like these are definitely a treat and

few and far between. This represents the best of the finds from a very long day of digging.

Would have to pack a lot of underwear to hunt a site like that ...... guarantee almost any of those buttons would have required a trip to the creek and an underwear change. Beyond words hunt right there.:notworthy:

Thanks TNGUNS, of all the campsites I've dug, this is definitely one of the best I've been on. We had a great time and saved some great history

Congrats on some awesome finds Sentinel! Wow..Unreal!

Thanks Zax, it was a personal banner day for us no doubt, a very fun day of digging and preserving history

You certainly have my attention. Nothing like that where I live.

Banner, banner, BANNER for us CW guys. That pic of all those buttons in your hand ACK! I will never be satisfied with a few bullets again. Good grief. No words, dude. No words. I'll PAY you to let me go with you . . .

I would say the most outstanding handful I have ever seen. My jealousy runs deep on this one. :notworthy:

Hey CW fanatics - don't you think all of these in ONE day deserves banner? I'm stumping for it!

Great day! Never thought these buttons are so huge! What a great handful of stuff!

Thanks Parson, maybe the Civil War relic moderators are off for the weekend :dontknow: 8-)

Thanks Westfront, the big Virginia Seal in the middle is part of a belt buckle actually, although it does look like a giant button laying there :occasion14:

JOSH!!! Holy Crap buddy, you guys killed it brother. What an awesome hunt and all CONFEDERATE!! I see Virginia was well represented on that site. The banners have been few and far lately. I found two presidential buttons in three weeks and only a mention here and there (Andrew Jackson and William H. Harrison) 1829 & 1840. You have stayed busy and I see the wife got in on some of the action, how she do? Hope things are going well, take care!
