Vinyl Record Finds

Sorry but I do not open videos from new members. The last time that I did, my computer crashed and cost me over $100 to fix. Pictures would be nice.

Videos take to long. Pictures are much better. Yawn

I took a look at the video and it brought back memories of having many of those albums. I was yelling at the screen, Houses of the Holy! Houses of the Holy!

Must be a young one. Didn't know a Led Zeppelin album when he saw one. lol. Nice finds on the rock albums. The others, I'd of passed on most myself.

Writing and reading on here is about my technical limit. I had my computer crash about 1 1/2 years ago when I opened a video on here from a new member. As much as I enjoy videos, I can't have that happen again. I lost too much that time.

I agree with Steve, very careful about what I open too = been popped before. Pics are my preferred viewing.

Yeah. I am just learning about the albums. I usually don't know what they are unless they have a title on the front :laughing7:

The OP is not a new member; he's been here for FOUR years.
Don.........

I always look at new threads without checking to see who started them. I'm almost 99% sure every thread started by the OP has been one of his videos or a link to same. I'm also about 90% sure I've never seen the OP post information on other members threads. I'm not going to say the videos don't have any redeeming qualities because I haven't bothered to watch any after the first couple. IMO the OP uses the forum primarily to drive traffic to his videos and/or blog in order to increase his hit count. Nothing wrong with a little capitalism but I won't support someone's efforts when I believe they are a "drive by" member.

The first concert I ever went to was Queens News of the World , tour . My ticket cost $8.50 . your Records look like they are in very good condition !

If you like those albums, great find! If you're looking at them for resale (esp on Ebay), my recommendation is you best look elsewhere.

From my experience, major releases by famous bands generally don't sell worth a damn. The problem is twofold.
1. They printed millions of these albums at the time so they're in everyone's basement, garage or storage unit.
2. Collectors value condition most of all and since what you find is probably going to be opened, they're likely scratched up, water damaged or just have general shelf wear.

The only real exception to all this are albums that are still factory sealed. Those albums can be scarce as hens teeth and almost always command a premium well above the opened copies.

If you want to look for albums with an eye to resale, I find it's best to look for the oddball stuff. LPs from artists you've never heard of before or (non-rock) genres such as disco, blues, country, early hip-hop or Tex-Mex for example. While you're at it, look for albums pressed in something other than the standard black. Those that are colored or transparent for example also seem to sell rather decently.

I still have a ton of '30's-'60's records. We play some often.
