Vintage Dog License

Detected for a couple hours in a Baltimore City park this afternoon. Was using the Etrac for the second time. I think I know what deep rusted iron rings in at now, but this signal was a mid-tone and turned out to be a brass disk. Couldn't make out the details out in the field, but a clean-up at home revealed a very old dog license.

That dog tag is EXTREMELY rare! Any tag from the 1800's is desirable, 1874 is absolutely awesome! That has to be worth over $100 and probably closer to 300 like Patch said. My oldest dug one is a relatively new 1911. Jackpot!

By the way, here's the female version. Don't trust the price because they probably thought this tag was too perfect looking to be valuable (or maybe a restrike). But the style is exactly like yours and it's attributed to Baltimore too.
