Viking Raven Strap End

I found this strap end a couple of weeks before Christmas. At first I thought it was meant to represent a fish (it looks a lot like a pike). It is actually a Viking raven strap end 10th Century. The raven is shown with wings folded, it is meant to show one of the ravens owned by the Viking god Odin, I think they were is eyes and ears.

There is so little known yet about Viking history archeologist are just now understanding it since the Viking,s where such nomads and never really settled down for any long period of time how does anyone determine whether its Viking or not ? iam no expert on Viking history just the little i have read ,that's a amazing find i would give anything to get over there a search for things like that it must be my English blood i was born in Cornwall the Cornish Coast Good Hunting Jim

That is true my sister went to Northern Cornwall a few years ago to trace out family history its seems it goes back to the Celts .
Cornwall is recognized as one of the "Celtic nations" by many Cornish people, residents and organizations.

And the Ice Cream is the best in the UK ....ummmmmmm

Just for laughs i have a funny story about a Uncle of mine Michael who was the Queens personal body guard back in 1982 she booted him out of the Palace by the way no refection on me his personal live style so there is some Royal Blood in a away in the Family
