Very tiny old buckle

Hello Tnet,
Found this small buckle in a garden ( a field with some dirt wall around it) from an old forest ranger tower here in the Netherlands. The tower was build in the 1840's but is near a small city with a lot of history wayyy before that.
Any idea how old this buckle could be ?
And what its purpose was ?
Any help is mich appreciated !

(Btw those are centimeters not inches.. Sorry guys !)

18th century shoe or knee buckle...nice find!

It is a buckle from what I see. A sash buckle or maybe a ladies shoe buckle. Mid to later 19th century I'm thinking?

Definitely a 1700s buckle, probably shoe.
