I’m not sure where to post this, so I will put it here.
Unidentified, what is the best light set up for a gem, minerals display. I’m talking about UV light. Without going to excessive detail, I will have all different types of minerals, gems…rocks! I’ll have rocks. so I’ll probably have low, mid, and high Nm needs.
i don’t have anything too fancy that’s worth any bucks. It’s just items that I’ve collected or given to me from different trips.
I have gotten such a variety of answers to what to use for UV lighting, that I can get confusing. A quick search on Google doesn’t help much either because a great deal that may seem informative at first, ends up being just long commercials. Trying to encourage you to buy their light systems. I do not want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a set up when I am just starting.
One recommendation that I got from someone on Facebook was that they use terrarium, reptile UV lighting systems, that seem to be relatively low priced in comparison with some of the more labor systems.
Any thoughts? If this needs moved to a different area, please do. And thanks.
