Utah prospecting

New to the forums, and out prospecting in Utah. Found a bit of gold here already and now have no cure for the fever. Anyway, hope to see you all out there. Good luck. If anyone in Salt Lake area that likes to go just let us know. Planning on a lot of trips this summer. If not, well good luck anyway, haha.

Hi Wayne, My name is Bas. My brother and I have also been looking into doing some prospecting this year. We've got the gold fever too. We did a few panning trips last year but found minimal gold. We went to little cottonwood canyon, and to the Eureka mining district and found only one small speck of gold. I did a lot of research on prospecting over the winter and I have a much better knowledge about where to look. My brother and I live in SLC. We are planning on going to Mary Ellen Gulch in American Fork Canyon sometime in May or early June, depending on when UDOT opens the roads leading up there. That is about the only place in close to SLC where there is gold that is somewhat easy to get at. If you know of any other places close to SLC where there is gold, I'd be interested in talking to you.
