Hi all,

My search skills didn't produce, so if this has been discussed, I would appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

Anyway, a recent 'finds' thread OP showed a garden sprayer he had found, and it reminded me of a 'find' from a few years ago.

We got a new mutt a few years ago, a poodle/schnauzer (aka schoodle). One day she started digging a hole right next to our house foundation. I tried a little mild discouragement, like filling in the hole periodically, but she was determined. After she got down about a foot she pulled out an old brass garden sprayer.

So I'm wondering... in recent years dogs have been used to find some pretty unusual things. Like cancer. Has anyone tried training a dog to sniff out minerals?

In the interest of full disclosure, when I would hold the sprayer down to our dog, she always sniffed at the hose connection. There may have been something inside the sprayer that had her interest, not the brass itself.
