Upgraded to a DFX!!!

Dear TNet Friends, today I went to a local dealer which is about an 1hr drive and I upgraded my Prizm V to a White's DFX. Man does this machine have all kinds of gadgets compared to my Prizm V. So I am very excited to get out their and start finding some good stuff.

My DFX should arrive tomorrow! Have you watched the videos on the Whites website? Seems to be a great machine - compared to the older spectrum.

Hi bavarianminster, no I have not seen those. I will check them out. I watched the video that came with the machine but it did not help much. The owner's manuel is as thick as a phone book. It is going to take time to real learn this machine. Have you used one before?

It is a great machine. You should think seriously about the book"Digging deeper with the DFX". It is a very good book with alot of info not in the stock manual that it comes with.

Did the same last year. Great machine, but you have to have patience with it in the begining. Takes some getting used to.

Congrats on the new machine,I've had mine for a few years now and although ive read the book a hundred times I always seem to stay with the factory presets.I'm sure I'll learn more about it someday but I always get anxious when I get to a new spot and just want to GO!GO!GO! I'll start off in coin and jewlry then if I get a decent signal I'll step up to coin to see if the vdi is consistent.Tip if you find yourself bouncing back and forth between modes more than 3 times you could have already dug it up.I've wasted way to much time trying to ascertain(what it is)before digging.Half the time you're not going to walk away from a questionable signal anyways.Good Luck

Your going to enjoy your new DFX, Iv'e had mine for five years now and it hasn't let me down yet. Learn as much as you can about it and the Bible for the DFX is Digging Deeper with the DFX (DDWTDFX), book author Jeff Foster, also good reading Understanding the DFX by Jimmy "Sierra" Normandi. Thanks everyone for the tips and suggested reading matieral, seems like I have a lot of learning ahead of me with my new DFX. I have watched the video that came with it and I have also ordered the recommended book "Digging Deeper with the DFX" Thanks Seatedhalf and TopDog. I will coming to all of you for help with this great machine. One quick question before I leave you all tonight, I love to hunt for everything Coins, Relics & Jewerly. Is there a defalt program for this type of hunt on the DFX?
