UPGRADE AVAILABLE FOR THE GTI 2500

Yesterday I emailed Garrett to see if there were any upgrades made on the GTI 2500. I was informed they have a new chip that will prevent the detector from giving that annoying overload signal in mineralized ground. That has been a pet peeve of mine. Anyway, the chip is only $10.00, but installing and shipping is $45.00! You just need to send your control head in for the upgrade. Monty

I have been reading on here about the chip upgrade . People who seem to be knowledgeable thinks
the chip helps some but doesn't really solve the 2500's problem . I personally don't know just re-
lating what I have read .

I just got mine back last week. Since mine was still under warranty, my only expense was shipping it there.

By the way, if you have a machine made after Sept 06 it will already have the chip. Mine, unfortunately, was made in Aug 06. You can tell the date by the first few digits of the serial number.

I am sending mine in this week too. The ground that I use it in around here is pretty neutral, however, that isn't always the case when I hunt elsewhere. Anything that gives you a slight advantage is always welcomed, within reason of course. And should I ever sell or trade it, having an upgrade always adds value to it.
