UPDATE: As of 9:45 this morning - I received a phone call about a lost camera bag with cameras and two lenses in it. Apparently, my gear was stolen when I was in the coin shop. The bag was found by a husband and wife that walk the train tracks in the morning looking for cans and other scrap metal. They found my business cards and actually freakin' called me. I'd be lying if I didn't say I cried. I drove over to pick up my bag and found everything still there with the exception of my second bag. Still missing one camera and three lenses but happy to have these two back. All of my memory cards and charger still there. Everything looks intact and the cameras power up. Fortunately they are weather sealed. The lenses are a little worse for wear - they found the bag half open and soaked from last nights rain. I'll be able to get them working after some dry time. I couldn't control myself when I saw my stuff and was more than thankful when they called me. All I had to give them for a thank you was fifty bucks and I just broke down. They were thankful but I can't express how I feel. I'm hoping that maybe my second bag will turn up but if not - I'll manage. For the people out there that have any doubts about the "power of prayer", I could tell you some stories. Just want to thank everyone for the support. You all are truly incredible people even if at times you may not think you are. I'm going to to try and salvage the rest of my morning and take Izzy out with her detector. Might be able to post some pics later this afternoon. *I'll be removing my add in the classifieds for the selling of my prints. If anyone wants to see my work just ask. Thanks again.

We need to get back to some more "tortuous" methods of dealing with thieving pieces of s***.....

Watch the classifieds. Also call pawn shops that are out of town, becuase these guys will think they are pulling a fast one and drive an hour to pawn stuff thinking you won't check that far out. Chances are he traded your stuff for a quick fix and some idiot will pawn it later. Sorry about your day. Just know that your life will always be better than that scum-bag's pathetic life.

Man that totally sucks and even a little worse considering you did take enough precaution to usually protect things.

Have you thought about setting a trap? Put out several adds looking to pay cash for camera equipment, even throw a few more things in the add to keep it from being suspicious. If someone calls simply get a good description and if it's your's show up with the cops. If they had planned on going the classified route you may have a chance on beating them to it. Yeah it's a long shot but I would have to try everything possible.

PS.. It might change hands right away but doesn't mean the receiver won't wont to flip it for the quick cash.

Sorry to see you got ripped off.I know the feeling well as I;ve been broke into 3 times here and the second time the cops arrested me instead of the thief. It seems the thief told the cops I had threatened him. After hiring a serious lawyer the charge againest me was dropped. I hope you get your photo equipment back as your photos are always enjoyable on the forum.HH...Panz

Dude that sucks! :-[ I live in eastern NC and will keep a look out. So you have any serial numbers to identify it?

Re: Great day at coin shop ruined by a theif...

Same thing happened to me last November. . . I really hope the cops catch those s_ _ _bags before you do.

Start checking CraigsList for locations within a hundred miles or so. . . sometimes it'll turn up there because
whoever took it, may need cash fast.

Take care,

So very sorry to hear about the theft of your camera equipment. Although this person no doubt was a coward, glad you were not there when it happened as you never know what these idiots will do to supprot their habit. I hope and pray that you get a break and are able to recover this loss.

Glad to hear you got some of your stuff back. Let's hope the rest shows up.

Maybe check out the area real good, the other bag might be close by where the stuff was found.

Thanks Sparky - I was hoping I'd here something today but I have not. I checked out five pwan shops today but no luck. Fortunately, my daughter and I went out MD'ing for about an hour and had a great time. Got my mind off the B.S. if you know what I mean. I'll post our finds in a bit.

Great to hear you got most of your gear back. It's nice to hear about good people after dealing with the bad ones

congratulations on getting part of your equipment back. I hope the other bag shows up. You should go ahead and list some of your prints anyway. Some of us may still be interested even though you don't need the money now to buy new cameras and accessories. you just never know.

you know, life is like a box of chocolate

Hi DD,sorry to hear what happend with you. Thank Good for the honest people, who still outhere. Hope the other stuff will turn up as well! Pannonian

i say let's start REALLY punishing these freeloading, scum thieves. it's one reason this country is going down the drain, FAST !!!!!!

Worst part is it can happen anywhere. The short of a long story. Pull into a full service car wash with just over half a tank, go inside and get a Coke, get my car back and on the way home my low gas warning light comes on. They didn't even get the wheels clean!

Can't. Half of the people who make the laws would be guilty as well.
