Well it has been a few days after snapping my collarbone and a bunch of ribs. Was downhill biking 10 days ago and crashed while going 25mph on a mountain bike. Walked 3.5 miles out of the woods at 9:40 at night and drove myself to the ER.!!. The pain sucks and is the worst thing I have ever felt and the pressure of my ribs being our of location makes for a hard day.
I'm have to wait for my collarbone to connect the broken bones before I can work on getting my ribs relocated. Being able to look around on the website helps pass the time. Thanks guys

feel better!!!!

You seem to be really intelligent and I do hope you get well soon. When I was much younger, I too, incurred injuries similar to yours(I was 18 at the time). I went to this pay to ride rodeo place and climbed on a brahma bull. I broke my collarbone and three ribs total. I figured out that Ride and Bull don't really go together. Like Mountain and Bike perhaps. Trust me, you will live to tempt fate again and soon, you will be able to forecast the weather just by waking up. I am now 66 and reading my latest painkiller bottle, Tylenol Codeine. I forgot my little two words or more. This time it would have been old fart and scooter. Famous last words of a southern boy---"Hey ya'll, watch this"...

Get yourself better, Rockhopper. I can relate totally. Back in '07 I had a motorcycle crash that broke 13 ribs, my left shoulder, collarbone, and left hip. I also have traumatic brain injury. Talk about knocking the wind out! Be careful with the pain drugs. I got addicted to vicodin, and it was a tough few days to kick it. The TBI was the toughest to beat. I have a math minor, and sadly I couln't even add 2+2 after the wreck. It took me a long time to get that back, but I exercised my brain and now its as sharp as a hammer! :laughing7: I walked with a limp for a couple years, but I'm about 99% right now, feeling good, and its about as good as it going to get.

The more you move, the better you will feel. The less you do, the less you'll want to do. Keep us posted, bro. Good luck and heal up!

This is the brake and why I have not been out detecting!!!

Ouch... broke my collar bone years ago while surfing. You will be down for about 3 months. Once it set, try to keep there, otherwise it will just take longer... trust me.. I know. Find a nice recliner to sleep in.

Best of luck!

Ouch indeed. Get better soon!

And do what the physical therapists tell you. ;-)

My brother caught a ski tip on a buried snow fence and went off a 30 ft cliff at Gore Mt. Split his collar bone lengthwise. Full recovery - but he was a hurtin turkey for a time.

Sorry to hear about the your mishap. Get well soon!

I've had broken ribs, nothing seems to hurt worse, there is no such thing as a comfortable position, but a recliner seems to be the best. In my case pain pills didn't even touch it, but you will mend, it doesn't last forever --- except ---- like austin said, you'll be a better weather forecaster than the young lady on TV.

LMAO AUSTIN !!!!!

I did the same thing once,,, many decades ago. Except it was a wild horse and I was "dared" to "break" her.
Needless to say I was tossed on my back rather expeditiously and stomped on.
Then to add insult to injury the hag then came face to face with me and blew a facefull of HORSE SNOT that literally coated my head.
Broken ribs,, check,,,broken wrist,,,check,,,MURDURED EGO,,,CHECK ,,,hehheh
I do still laugh when I think of her letting loose that snot on me,,, she was almost laughing I think.
