due to a fairly recent robbery of a wealthy woman's condo by 4 cleaning gals -- up to $100,000 bucks worth of jewelry was thrown into a nearby river --the river is a tannin stained type river (black water as divers call it)-- its very murky and hard to see in --its tidal in nature by the bridge area switching up stream / downstream every 6 hours or so --- one of the cleaning gals admitted to swiping $700 in cash a bit at a time over a space of time --- but stated that the 3 other gals were the ones that took the jewels and that she saw one of them throw jewelry into the river later on as they crossed the bridge.( north east florida area)

( blackwater diver w/ boat? ) for more details PM me -- Ivan

Great lead Ivan, I used to dive black water for the sheriff's office. You never knew what you were going to find. Grabbing dead guys was always interesting.

Just curious as to why they dumped the loot into the river. Were they being pursued? A foot chase perhaps? Have the local cops been in the water yet on this?

If you have a very solid lead I know a guy in Jacksonville that used to be on the dive team with me. He runs a dive shop up that way and I can put you two together. If he can't do it I have a 10' RIB and all the dive gear as a last resort.

Good luck with the hunt!

according to one of the 4 crooks (a small timer petty cash theif-- that was swiping smallish bits of cash to get by on ($700 in total)- by her account she did not take part in swiping the jewels --(shes rolling on the others) one of the three players in the jewel heist threw jewelry off the bridge and into the river ( guess the dummies swiped it BEFORE setting up a fence to deal with it and thus they were stuck with the swag and scared the cops would catch rhem with it so away it went in the river) Ivan

That's an interesting story. Shows one how dumb some crooks are.

If you guys pursue this, being that it is stolen loot, do you have to turn it in? Is there a reward? I heard that sometimes there is a nice reward from insurance companies to recover items like that. But either way it would be cool to find the stuff.

I am currently over seas working. I'm investigating a story about a small boat that capsized crossing a water way. These guys had robbed a bank back in the early part of the 20th century. Supposedly there were thousands of dollars in gold and silver coins. The problem is murky water and funky stuff growing in the water.

if it was insured the insurance company would gladly pay a finders fee* rather than having to payout the full loss.--- the owner of it would pay a recovery fee --no doubt if its not insured to get it back I'm sure. Ivan

still finding it would be a grand adventure story and bit of fun anyway.

Fire away Ivan....black water creeks and rivers is the only thing not holding jellyfish up this way right now.
