Unusual spring

Found this in an old toolbox and can't find what it is or used for. Its's a chrome plated spring about 2 inches long with a loop. on one end and a straight pin on the other

Agree. Throttle linkage spring for a lawn mower or other small engine.

My first car was a 1969 Datsun 510 and the throttle spring was just like that.
