Welcome to Tnet. Knowing the size would help. Looks to have been gold plated at one time. I would say it's a link from a belt or bracelet.

Thanks m8, it's ruffly the same size as a ten pench piece, yeah it's the back that's confusing me as there's a small link of some sort
