unkown iron object from the Union Camp

This is an unknown iron item I found in a Union camp in west central Mississippi. Any clues? Thanks

I have no idea, but the head of the "hook" part of your piece is strikingly similiar
to the shape of the hook mounted on the very far right of this cannon carriage.
Just thought I'd mention it. The cannon part is called a "washer hook". No idea
what your's was mounted to though.
