Haha thanks for all the replys been doing some research some on ebay sold for up to £102 gbp is there somewhere i could get them valued? Thanks guys and girls

They used the coins as target practice. I found one only the other day with a bullet dent. (In the UK)
I think these were made to fool people, the likely hood of so many on the market at once gives it away. They were shot & then another bullet was placed in the hole.

Josh, you will probably find a case of Snake Oil and a Three-card Monty table where you got these.

Granddad was an interesting gentleman, yes?

brit coins shot with a us 30 cal rifle (30/06) with a brit 303 bullet later on push in the hole ... sharp shooting contest between soldiers during WW2 most likely using brit coins in England

most WW2 vets went thru the depression as well as the war --often food was scarce ... many hoarded cans of food ---meats and vegs and potatoes and tinned milk were common hoarder items...

These remind me of the fake "bullet struck" Civil War buckles that pop up on Ebay and various questionable websites. The buckles were made by drilling a hole smaller than the diameter of the bullet then driving the bullet through the buckle with a hammer which will distort the lead buckle backing. If you look closely you will see hammer impact damage to the base of the bullet but in most cases the nose is not damaged. After a bath in some sort of chemical salts, voila! You have a "authentic" bullet struck Civil War buckle dug at some random famous battle site. People continue to fall for these and pay big bucks for them.
