For the first one, I'm going with powder flask

The first one looks like what's left of an old duck call, but I don't feel sure about that. The second one could be a powder funnel? Hard to say. Monty

Hmm, second one is what looks to be like the powder flask funnel In the first photo. And the first resembles the top of the bottom photo of the flask. Please correct me if I am wrong. Gesh, I need to revisit that spot eh? Thanks! M&M :)

powder flask / gunpowder funnel -- (matches up with) goes well with the bullet mold item as well :icon_thumright: often like use items are lost / together at the same time -- dropped or left behind by mistake.

WOW 4-H!
You've found the bullet mold, the powder flask spout, now all that's left to find is the pistol.
Can I come huntin' with you sometime? LOL
You find ALL the good stuff!

oh yah you gotta go back there no doubt ----*what if it was owner shot & killed ? --was he a robber that buried his loot before the posse caught up with him or a trader who hid it before the robbers / raiders caught up with him? both are possible --of course if it just fell out of a saddle bag other things might have too -- what if the person had to suddenly flee for one reason or another leaving items behind? like enemy troops suddenly appeared -- and he had to had to flee for his life and raise the alarm --- gun stuff in the old days was too important and worthwhile to just leave behind without good cause :icon_thumright:

I agree totally. The site was on the banks of the Tennessee river and if anyone reading this knows that can be tough going. There was a big battle there in Knoxville so these troops were everywhere. We dug several relics including a real nice "Block I" Infantry button. The problem is you have to be willing to search where others have passed up because of rough terrain, snakes etc... I'm still pulling thorns out of my arm's today from the saw grass. It was worth it though! I'll be back this week. lol
