Hello,

Any help in identifying this object and the stamps would be very much appreciated. I've absolutely no idea what it could be !
The number reads 417999

Similar to a baby food pusher, but those usually had a flat edge like a garden hoe.

I don't know what it is but I found a little info. I think that is a British design registry number and it dates it to circa 1903-

Dating_English_Registry_Marks

English Registry Numbers:

After 1883 a Numerical mark was used in the following form:

Rd 742833 or Rd No. 742833

____________________________________

1903 403200
1904 424400

That mark is listed as "unidentified" at this site:

BRITISH ELECTROPLATED SILVER - ALPHABETICAL LISTING OF MAKER'S MARKS: FA-FZ
Most of these electroplate and silverplate makers operated in the town of Sheffield from c. 1840 to c. 1940 (makers operating in other towns, e.g. Birmingham, are expressly indicated)
