My fiance and I were metal detecting on one of our properties along the Mississippi in Wisconsin. My MD set off a loud confident distinct ping indicating that there was something good about 6" deep. I cut a 7" plug and on the bottom of the plug was a shinny gold piece, I removed it from the clump of dirt and it was this very interesting ring. It looked as though it had just been polished it was so bright in gold. There are two sapphire stones embedded in what looks like to be a gold nugget style ring. There are no "ct" or "kt" markings inside the ring only what appears to be a "mg". I will have to do some research on it. looks like a very unique ring.

Looks like it might be slightly melted and I'm guessing, missing a stone ?

On the left side in the picture its missing a stone it appears it used to have 3 now has 2...and in the old days they weren't marked gold doesn't tarnish so something that looks new can still be very old

There are no stones missing. The design is just that unique. There was no melting either..

with the color of the ring it looks to be 18 to 22 K on my screen, and probably hand crafted to someones liking's, coming out 6'' and still shining like the day it was made also says its gold....... awesome find Von :sunny:
