From the pics I'm sure it's a 2 piece button. If so it's a civilian button from the mid 1800's It would fall into a category of flower buttons.

Here's a link with pics of some types of flower buttons. I'm sure it will change as his inventory changes. There are quite a few variations of buttons that fall into the flower button class so you may not find your particular button listed on this link but I thought it may help.

anybody have any ideas?? still trying to identify this button..thanks...six
Hello Ocalasix. Old post and I see by the date you are still not satisfied with the ID so I searched a bit to try and help.

I dont think we will be able to ID it any further than has already been done. Its a 2 piece civilian flower or star design button. These types of machine stamped brass buttons were manufactured from the mid to late 1800's through the 20th century and still made today, although not used nearly as much today as plastic buttons.

I would estimate your button as early 20th century judging by the other finds. Its an interesting find definitely civilian. Probably worn by a lady.

Here is a concave button made by Warterbury. Its not a match but the design is similar in some ways. Its the closest I could find. I hope this helps toward posting the green check but its solely your decision. :)

:) I think this is the flower button link that vayank wanted to post.

http://www.saylerscreekrelics.com/Flower buttons.htm

There are a few other concave styles there if you want to search.

Even with the green check, anyone with any further information can add it at any time. :)
