Unknown buckle.....

Have never been able to find a match to this early tongue anywhere.I have searched every published book I could get a hold of!Will likely never know how in the heck it came to be in the shape its in!!!!

Thanks,it is,I have never seen one come from the ground with Gilt like it.My partner dug it and is undecided on getting it restored for the simple fact the image is stretched....I dont know....pretty hard to even dispaly like it is!

This one has the eagle facing to the left as in yours, and looks similar. Confederate Staff Buckle I think.

Kuger, what are the markings between the eagle wings, behind the head, they look like Sun Rays or something sure has a lot of guilding left on that cracker

Hey Colin!They are Rays and it say's "E.Pluribus Unum",across the top.The gilt on it is astounding,huh?

well,yours is round()....I see now,my pic looks round but it isnt,its oval,the belt loop isnt decorated the same,and yours doesnt say E PLURIBUS UNUM
