Found this near an old sandstone quarry, they removed the dirt and removed rock from the face of a bluff… I also suspect that before the quarry there was a na trade site that extended into that area so I’m curious if anyone has any idea what this is. If it’s more modern or possibly a trade item, my best guess is match safe because of the two little bits of copper that I found in basically the same hole and may have attached to that little lip of material on the squashed side

I can get it next to a ruler when I’m back home, for what it’s worth this was nearby, I thought Maybe some kind of burnt wire but with the copper sheath thing I don’t think it’s wiring related unless it’s a ground… going back the other way to trade goods maybe a crude bucket handle… I don’t know which era they are related to 1830 or 1930… but maybe the two items are connected and can help with an id
