Hi all yesterday was the local big horse race day of the year or picnic day. Been a local holiday for more than 130 years. The office manager at work has offered a couple of old homes which owns to have a hunt on.No agreements just fill the holes and go for your life.Bit of a joke at work about my passion of history and the hunt. The blokes just cannot understand why i don,t care about worth and making money.Lol theres not a lot of money to made out of the junk i find double lol .
Well that was not so true because today i found this late 1890 cream pot lid and complete for a change and i believe this one may be considered treasure or i,m dreaming again lol
Took me about 5 hours to locate the trash pit in the back yard.Dug up a lot of broken glass and pottery and only came away with a few relics.truely the best day i have had for the year.In many years of hunting i have only ever found 7 pot lids and this is my local Australian one. I,m keeping this one for ever.
other finds include a ginger beer bottle 1890 buckle 1890 and old english penny bent as usual and a nice AMF australian military forces button ww1 no border and tiny crown I think a possible nurses button
The lid speeks for its self and tells its own story
thanks for looking and heres a few pics
