This came from the same new site as the union riflemen button I got two weeks ago. The whole place is a muddy crab apple thicket very tough going but quality finds. This one is about half an inch across the backmark is SCOVILLS & CO EXTRA. Circa 1840 or so as far as I can find. This is my first navy button and I am quite pleased with it!

I'm originally from W.PA.. north of the "burg" in a little place called Sharpsburgh, NHills..........great find

Thanks guys. If only it could talk. Think of where it might have been, did it see the bombardment of Fort Sumter or the blockade Charleston?

Excellent recovery. Congratulations to you sir.
