Union laws token? Id help please!

Dug this tonight, havnt been able to find anything about it anywhere! This token? Is just slightly bigger than a nickel has a reeded edge and at one point you can tell it had a gold guilt on it. The text on it reads UNION LAWS the other side P. T. APR 21861. Also the center may have been made out of a lesser quality metal because it's all but fallen out. Any help would be awesome! Hope all is well!

Thanks don mine is slightly different same date but different text just saying UNION LAWS. Even with reading that post I'm still not sure what it was a medallion of some sort for what?

More of a political advertisement piece. Usually had a photo either Lincoln or General McCelellan, when he was running for president, against Lincoln in 1864.
(Those are the only two people that I've seen examples of)

Thanks! It came from the same site as the 2 cent piece from the other day, again we didn't have much time and really were quite under dressed. Hopefully I'll be able to look around longer tomorrow!
