Unifaced Blade and Soapstone Frag

The weather was perfect, I walked for 5 hours but didn’t recover a point. I found some worked chert preforms, pottery, soapstone bowl fragment and the unifaced quartzite blade. Archaic period mostly imo.
1st soapstone piece I’ve ever found in that creek. Also some old bricks falling out of the bank not sure how old.

At 1st glance I thought the post title was "

Unifaced Blade and Soapstone Frog" 🙂​

Looks like someone at some time dumped a bunch of bricks; I used to find piles like that in areas in some creeks I hunted in Columbus Georgia when I was a kid.

I thought maybe a well fell in but just a wag.

Do your creeks heat up this time of year? Arrowhead season is winding down where I hunt, leaves, crop debris, the rain doesn’t usually move the dirt like it does in the spring, once the ground freezes sifting becomes tough, I usually do more metal detecting till spring.
