Um...Not sure about this....

My hunting partner found this today in a field across from a 1667 farm. There was supposed to be a train station near this area also.

Any ideas? I am not sure what type of metal it is. It almost looks like it is made out of nickel.

To me it appears to be the bell portion of a Victorian mechanical door bell. There was a similar, but less ornate, one at a home I once lived in. Turning a button on the outside rang the bell on the other side of the door. never needed a battery!! 2 dgs.
