Hello! Do any of you have an idea what this glass thing might be. Some have suggested it's a glass stand of some sort, but that wouldn't explain the word "Use" on the part that sticks out. I found it in some crumbling mortar from a wall that had fallen over.

It's probably something very ordinary, but I don't have any ideas.

It is exactly an inch high from the base and if it were still a complete circle it would be around 2 inches in diameter.

It's hard to tell from that picture, but most of the ones I've looked at seem to have a notch on the outside rather than on the inside...? Plus, mine is much flatter than any of them and it doesn't appear to be broken off. And I'm not sure what "Use" would be referring to...

Having said all that, I found a picture showing the metal loops that go around some insulators and I know that I have found one of those loops before and threw it aside.

I was searching online but a lot of things are not giving a good view of the tops. I am thinking maybe the top to an old chemistry set bottle or maybe an old glass medicine bottle...

I also found a photo of a similar cap showing the kind of fruit jar it fits.
