I dug this out of a farm field, and at first thought it was a copper "pickers tag".
After a little cleaning, it looks like it's going to be a Matron Head Large cent (1816-1835 28.5mm diameter)
But the obverse is worn smooth.
Except.....
When I look under magnification, I can clearly see the remnants of a curved "Liberty" in small letters where it shouldn't be.
Was there another coin leaning against it?
Did I leave a Flowing Hair large cent, or a Half Cent in that hole?
I remember doing a 30' circle around that hole looking for more drops, but can't for the life of me remember if I rechecked that d@$n hole.
