What's up yall, it was a sweet day outside today so I treated myself to some nice easy turf hunting for a change. I hit two of our regular spots; two old schools. Spent maybe two hours at the first one and got about 6 wheats and the thing with the Chevy emblem. No silver even though it surprised me just a tad; I didn't care, it was so sweet out and it was peaceful and the clad was popping anyway.

I headed over to the next school, and walked right into the spot all of us usually go to first. I was finding stuff as if we've never hit it very hard before...the clad was flowing and the wheats were popping right and left and I pulled a buffalo and then a silver....something. It says "MIKE" and what looks like "LOVE" as it got chopped; it's marked sterling though. Things settled down for a while and I kept on and was about to hit it. I was going slow was listening for the faint peeps of the deep silver/wheats when all of a sudden BANG BANG BANG. Walker. Three inches. Go figure. ::) 8) That made me stick around a while longer to draw out the great hunt that was at hand along with the great weather. Wandered off a little and then left, but it was indeed a nice day out.

And I wasn't going to post this here but since I mentioned the other walker, what the heck. Went on a great camping/detecting trip last weekend with a big group from another site and had a great time. (That's $36.36 in clad right there :o)

You guys are killing it at old hunt sites. The great finds are obviously still coming to the sunlight! WTG....jgas

Nice bunch of clad and big silver. I went out today hit a couple parks and school yard couldn't even find a clad penny. Plenty of pull tabs though. Slim pic kins here in Utah. I have noticed more hobbyist then ever before here. There was a small house being razed and I drove by and there were 15 M.D swinging their coils.( No kidding) I guess I see why I didn't find much at the parks/school I am not complaining but my son is just starting to get into the hobby and I told him today it's only getting tougher. Might have to drive several miles to find anything.

There's sites around here like that too. Although that does sound pretty crazy. It could've been a club detecting that one site, but yea. And yes, for the most part, the only sites we have around here where you can go and expect to find a silver in 3 hours are basically a half an hour away. I think it helps to keep exploring new sites though. Better than pounding a stale site over and over again for one or three keepers when you have the entire unkown out there. Good luck and that's still really cool that your son's getting into it.

My sentiment exactly. Mind boggling to me, nice finds.

Nice silver find and great collection of other goodies.

True; it just seems like if you're after large cents or colonial type of stuff or even just seateds, you're kinda screwed...I mean obviously they're here, but it takes a lot of research and sniffing and asking permission and that sort of thing. Thanks guys.

Nice big silver nate. I think that people pass on those loud signals because they think
it's a pop can. I allmost did it on the first one I found.

Gotta love those Walkers!! Nice going. That's an impressive amount of clad, too. :D

Keep up the great work!

HH,

WTG Nate......Beautiful coins and damn at the clad count on your camping trip! Not too shabby.....

No kidding.....same problem here. I have to drive an hour to find some decent hunting grounds. It's nothing for me to drive 300 miles on Saturday looking for some new ground! It stinks.....but our hobby is quite popular now!
