Not once, but twice! The first time this morning I was carrying a load of firewood up an icy slope when the playful dog decided to leap into the air and land on one of my feet, the one I was just started to take a step with. Down I went, leg crashing into one of the deck timbers. Got this great big nasty lump on my left shin.

Later this same day I was unloading groceries from the van, on the same darn icy slope, when I went down this time all I could recall was my old football coach yelling, "Tuck and roll!" Which I did. So today I learned that at 56 I can still tuck and roll with the best of them. :laughing7: No damage this time, just cat quick reflexes and I was up on my feet again in an instant and ready to tackle anything that moved. Poor dog. Didn't know what hit her. :laughing7:

Take an Advil right now. LOL

(I'm not a doctor and in no way am certified to give out medical advice....I'm also broke. Sueing me will do no good.)

Ouch. Careful.
Did you immediately look around to se if anyone saw you. ;)
Peace ✌

I hope you feel better!

The last time I took a tumble on the ice, the ice won! Broke my ankle and slid half way under the truck (it was parked). I looked at my feet, left was pointed up and the right was laying flat pointing to my left foot and I'm thinking "that's not good". I tried getting up, all was fine till I tried putting weight on the right foot, that was a pain like no other!

So you are a lucky guy!

I'm lucky I didn't break my leg, sure felt like it. I have a pretty good lump on my shin but the 3 year old granddaughter played nurse, put an ice princess band-aid on it and now it's all fixed and better. :laughing7:

I'm right there with ya, Scoop. I am 56 and I fall every winter several times. Tuck and roll is the only way to really avoid injury. Trouble is, as we age more, even the tuck and roll will get us. Broken bones in old people are not fun.

On my arse with the recycle bin in my hands is how I started yesterday AM. Was dark no one saw. Just a reminder on my backside that falling at 56 is not as much fun as falling at 55 for sure. Lucky to have that lil one tend to you. Get well soon.

Well at least it was not "Duck and take cover" from bullets flying.
