Congrats! They certainly cleaned up well. How'd you do it?
Thanks, I first used a strong acid to remove heavier crust after carefully splitting the coins, rinsed them in water then Heated until red hot with propane torch and quenched in a water mixed product called Lemi shine.
Gently scrubbed with a very fine (soft) brass wire brush between heat and quench cycles in order to remove
most of the oxidized crust.

Kind of a radical treatment to subject a silver coin to, I know!, though believe not worth to much to risk loosing much value considering they had already been melted together and had a fairly thick crust on them when found.
And should also mention my make shift plug in electrolysis adaptor could not be found in time to clean coins and share post before the new year..
Happy New Year to you!:occasion14:

Nice going Finder :) A find is a Find. When i go with my brother I always find more surface coins then him. He always asks me how I can see them so fast. I think most detectorists have there eyes glued to the ground

Well done, those ARE GREAT finds! Agree w/ Gare that as detectorists our eyes do spot things quicker, whether it be coins, fossils, etc.

Haha, I agree detectorists or even those who often watch the popular mudlarking YouTube channels out of the UK may have an above average advantage spotting the surface finds.
Also seems to be a little easier when out for a stroll after it has rained. Thanks, Happy New Year and Cheers! :icon_thumright::occasion14:

Well found on the 2 silvers, and a different one at that.

I might of heard about Straights Settlement coinage but not recently. Quite the history on this coinage and I really learnt something new today.
Here is the details of the coin.
Note the .600 silver

Thank You pepperj! Was surprised to learn of the Straits Settlements coin origin.
It really was an odd couple of coins to find together and seems to be one aspect that the British Columbia interior can be good for!
Imagine It must have had quite the journey all the way to and from British Malaya before i picked it up..
Glad you looked into find!:icon_thumright::occasion14:
