Hello again from Galway N.Y. - Been hunting an historic old farm from the late 1700's which at one time was an 800 acre farm but over the years was chopped up into 3 to 5 acre parcels. Little by little I am getting permission to hunt various parcels and to date have skimmed over about 14 acres. Today I was hunting what was used as a path to the farmers field which I assume workers were transported via buckboard. Found the two largies about four feet from each other approx. 6" deep and the token about ten feet from the largies and 4" deep. Sorry but my photo skills need much improvement but I thought I'd share....I'm really excited for spring to come as my greatest desire is to possibly find some artifact that would aid in documenting an old rumor that Lafayette once visited this farm after the Rev war. There is a spring here that was named after Lafayette and I just got permission to hunt there but not until spring.....Oh, if anyone has any history on the token I would be glad to hear about it....Thanks!

Ooops think that is an 1826 not 1828

Nice cents & I hope someone weighs in on the old token! :icon_thumleft:

Your access to so many acres seems a dream come true, even tho you'll have to wait til spring!
You'll be detecting there for years to come! Andi

Love the LC's. Hoping to see more in the spring.:icon_thumleft:

Way to go on the coppers hope you find a ton more

Dig until your arm falls off

Thanks man, when I dug it my AT Pro was showing an 88 and I figured I finally had a big silver. Well its silver alright but light as a feather (aluminum) lol!
Cool token! Albert Brewer was Governor of Alabama from 1968-1971.

If you have one, join the local historical society. I did and became friends with many members who own colonial properties. They all have given me permission to hunt. I have given talks regarding my finds and did an article for the society with pictures and historical relevance of the finds. At the end of the article I offered my services to anyone who has lost a keepsake or other valuables to assist in finding such. Its all about networking, making friends and most of all leaving the property as you found it..... HH
