It is always great to see ground-found coppers in such great condition. Long live those South Jersey sugar sand soils!

CONGRATS on some nice largies DON. It is always nice to dig big coppers out of the ground

Nice coppers Don! Nope to see more from you this spring!

Steve, usually winding down hunting in April when underbrush growth and ticks come to life, and no different this year, probably be lucky to get a few more hunts in, than hopefully, bicycle riding time! ( Couple operations coming up that will complicate things for a few weeks).. I only got four large coppers this year, only 6 hunts! But at least all 4 coppers are different, 1786 BabyHead Vermont, 1800 Draped Bust LC, 1814 ClassicHead LC and the 1829 Coronet LC.....Would love to get a NJ this year, need one more for twenty four............

Good luck with the operations Don. I hope to get out at least 6 or 8 times before summer shuts me down. Maybe I'll find that NJ for you ;)

What kind of place did you find those coppers in, woods, farm field, cellar hole?

wooded sites, some were fields in the 1700s and early 1800s, but almost never a field that exists today, not many fields at all in my immediate area....Ones that are, most are from the mid 1800s which is way too new for my quests...

Nice finds right there!!!

Nice condition on both Don. Regardless of any variety rarity, it's just nice to get something decent. Most any of us would be happy with either of those....I would be.

Glad to see you got out to beat the brush and the blasted ticks. The cleaned varieties are beauties, amazing. Congrats on your short big hunt. I hope you find your horsey Don... Art

Great condition coins Don! your sandy soil down there keeps them so nice! wish ours did up here.

Don, very nice finds. It looks like the soil is very kind to coppers down there. Looking forward to more posts!

Don

Certainly nothing wrong with that! One day... maybe just one day...

Nice coin finds! Great LC's! Congrats!
