Hello Everyone,
Today the sun was out and the temperature low about 20 degrees in the morning, but I still needed to hunt! For the first hunt, I used the Minelab 705 with the 18.75 kHz coil at the same soccer field as two days ago. With the temperature that cold with a 6 mph wind I lasted only 1 ½ hour covering only a very small percentage of one of the fields; about 5 yards wide and the length of the field. No Gold today, but some clad coins to keep me busy.
The second hunt was my old standby old park. This time the Whites V3i with the 4"x 6" shooter coil (2.5 kHz) was used to look for silver coins among the multitude of modern trash. This hunt lasted a bit more than the last, since the temperature increased to a whooping 30 degrees. Working the tree line area near the cooking stoves produced more clad and two Mercury (1924 & 1927) Dimes.
All in all a fun cold day hunting with two nice silver surprises.
Thank you for looking.
