Spent a couple hours out there today. A lot of clad, including my third dollar coin, then two holes in a row I got two rings. First one is the crazy looking one, marked sterling. Second one is junk, but still.

Anybody know what kind of stone that is in the ring? It's rough, dark green, and opaque. Not turquoise, I'm pretty sure.

Also found one foot down an enormous iron thing that weighs about 50 pounds. Took half an hour to get it out; was disappointed it was not a box full of St Gaudens double eagles. I'll put this over on What Is It, too.

Thanks for looking!

That is a super cool ring! I wish I'd found it. =)
No clue what the stone is.

Cool finds. Maybe some type of tractor weight? or a footing for something?

Even enlarged, I can't figure out your stone. Agree that it's not green turquoise, and also doesn't look like my other two fave green stones, malachite & jade. If nobody has a clue after your post has been up awhile, you could show it to folks in your local gem & mineral club -- that way, you'll be sure to get accurate I.D. I LOVE THE CRAZY SETTING! I love the ring with the stone. Could it be raw jade that has not been polished? That's my only guess but I don't know much about rocks and minerals.
Nice ring!!

I just did an image search on raw jade, and that's a possibility, actually.

nice find, that jade ring looks great! Make's me want to get out and start hunting, it's just been to cold on these old bones. but soon the temp and i will be there.

I used to have a ring with a raw emerald and that looks like it.
