400 in hand rolled halves netted me:
40% - 6
90% - 1
NIFC - 5 (4 '06p, 1 '02p)
Error - 1972d no fg
and best of all 1943s silver australian Florin. Gorgeous coin.

Also picked up $20.00 in nickels which produced 4 pre60 coins (39,46d,57d,58d)
and a 2 headed nickel that really got me excited until i dropped it on the table and heard a hollow sound. Anyone else find one of these?

I'll post pictures of the Florin later.

It has been a few years, but I have found a double headed nickel myself. I knew right off the bat it was man made as I know it is impossible for the mint to come out with something like that as the obverse and reverse die sizes are different.

why do you like to save 1960's nickels is it just for the age because i find old nickels all the time in circulation

I found a two-headed nickel a couple years ago and for the life of me, I can't get it to pop open. You should have seen me bouncing it off the bathroom floor like a fool. Got gross when I had to fish it out of the cat's litterbox a couple fo times. :P

How old is "old" and what do you define as "all the time"?

generally late 50's through sixties if i went to the corner store id say for sure id get a 60's nickel they arent worth more than a nickel except for metal content
so are you just searching rolls for war nickels or for anything before 1964

I search for War Nickels and anything made 1959 and before. Also, I've found a proof nickel too. If you asked most of the people on here that search nickels, they'd say the same thing.

Ditto, except I save 1955 and prior.
