Dang it all anyway...both times my heart did flip flops and I couldnt even breathe....
Both about 4 inches deep ....iron stove door had me convinced that I had hit the mother lode ....its about 12 x 14 and I was doing the happy dance in my mind....
Iron pot lid was buried as shown and when I hit the handle I immediately thought I couldnt be burned twice....alas....burned twice....maybe the third time will be the charm! :D :D :D

I know how you feel.
I was digging a big target at the base of a tree near an old homesite and found a large hinge, Still had a signal, Then what looked like a lock face... Still a signal, Hit at big metal object, cleared 8 inches on either side and....

A plow blade.
But it was in good shape! I will need a bigger treasure bag.

Nice finds anyway!!

When I hunt with Watercolor, I always chuckle to myself (sorry, Mark) when he finds old cast iron stove parts, 'cuz he schleps them along for the rest of the hunt. ;D
Neil

I tried to get Mark to help me pull a cash register out of a creek bed but he wouldnt do it ::) ::) ::)

That's because I was up to my a$$ in mud. . . my boots still aren't clean from that hunt :D
(If Gypsy EVER asks you to follow her down to a "really neat" creek. . . watch out :o )

You wasn't the only one "up to my a$$ in the mud"...remember Gypsy fell in. :o We had a good time looking for thrown away junque treasures.

Great finds, Gypsy...I'm almost as bad as you hauling junque home. ;D

 RR

What! :o

Hope you find another strong gal to help you get it out.

Luv this thread. I don't know how many times I've dug a heavy container or fruit jar only to find it filled with dirt or trash metal.

Some day!
