Two axe heads found top of swamp

Looking at axe heads...
Which led to logging...
Which led to sawmills...
Which led to sawpits...

Sawpits ??!!

Does a sawpit equal money pit?

Have to take back a comment. Just learned there was a sawmill run by the Smith family around 1920 on the west end of OI, so logging goes back in as an explanation for axe heads underfoot.
What! A simple explanation?

So the axe heads are not magical markers to a vast treasure?

Let’s see
If you are talking about pictures of the axe heads and how they are placed on the ground, you're out of luck.
It was an on camera OI episode when Gary Drayden found 'em. Either Jack Bagley or that youngster related to Testor was with him.
If you find the episode, only the actual axe heads will be shown, not how they lay in the ground...
If you (or anyone!!) could do that and input the picture to this thread, perhaps the heads could be dated.

Tools get lost in the brush and tops when felling trees. Probably went to back ups and these got covered.
