Turning a dollar into more!!!

Hey guys, been snowy here so i started to do some bill hunting. I went to the bank and got 50 dollars worth of dollar bills and ran across this one. I have it listed on ebay now and its at 17.70. I never thought i could make money on a dollar bill but the low serial number is awesome. Im gonna have to start watching my bills closer for star notes and low or funky serial numbers.

I had a $5 star note I sold on ebay, i got $37.50 for it, because it was a low number as well...

I never knew about low serial numbers. But now im checkin all my money(plus i tell my fiancee to let me see her money too, hehehe). Like was said before, just another hobby they can get mad at us for!! She is still kind of in shock that it went for so much and was like someone is stupid to pay that much for a dollar. I said well, now you got 17 more dollars you can spend!!!

A good "liar's poker" dollar bill. Good fortune!!

and actually worth a few extra dollars for that reason. When I was young, I counted the money for a vending machine business. (A nice job to have if you're a coin collector). Anyway, I used to go through the bills looking for serials with a lot of the same numbers on them. At the local bar/eatery, guys were always playing liars poker. I'd frequently sell mine for $5, a few times $10, and once $20 (If I recall, I think that one had seven "ones" on it. ie - aces) And this was in the early 1980's......

Pay special attention to new bundles of bills. They run sequentially and look for cool runs of numbers, errors....I've seen the craziest stuff!. Had a store manager come in with a note that's printing was offset by an inch (front vs. back), low numbers, and a green ink roller smear about a quarter inch wide. Sent it off to authentication and grading fast! We'll see.........he really found something and could have serious cash in his pocket! Fun stuff!

Now don't get me wrong here, people will pay what they will pay. I am happy that you made some extra cash on the notes. I know people that sell stuff that you would never think will get $$$...But it does....ebay is a great place. Congrats and keep searching for more... jgas
