Have any others done like I have? I take all the trash i dig home with me. Once home I wash the dirt off to have a better look at the item. Sometimes what i thought was junk was a Goodie. If the items can be recyled, I seperate them brass in this. copper in that. I took mine in this fall, prices were high. Sometimes my signal I dig isn't a cent, but it still is pocket money. Besides leaving the area cleaner than before I got there, I do not end up digging the same item over. Might sound silly, but would you walk away from a quarter laying there. Also do not put brass shell cases (fired or unfired) in.

I always bring my trash home wit me. like you said, sometimes there are goodies you miss. I almost thru this away, because it was crumbled into a ball. only realized it wasn't after cleaning, so I straitend it out

Turning trash to cash can also be bad. Had an area that old homes were being taken out to make room for beutification project. Someone came in w/ shovels digging up copper lines and I mean 6-10' long holes! Looked like a d**n warzone. Lost the area to detect for couple years. Worked w/landowners and finally got area back. Always finding lots and lots of goodies along w/trash. These homes dated back to the 10's and 20's. The key is to make it look better than when you got there. HH y'all.
