Today I did my standard run...ended up picking up

1 - $500 bag of dimes
2 - $200 bags of nickels
5 - $50 bags of pennies

Went through bag 1 of nickels so far, thought I was going to be silverless, but in the second to last handful out popped a 1943-S.

Also got
45 other pre-1960 Jeffersons (1939(2), 1940(3), 1940-S, 1941(2), 1942(3), 1946(2), 1947, 1947-D, 1948-D, 1951(2), 1952(3), 1953(2), 1954(2), 1954-D, 1955-D, 1956-D(3), 1957(2), 1957-D(5), 1958, 1958-D(3), 1959-D(4))

7 Canadian (1972, 1974(2), 1975, 1979, 1994, 1999)

4 Foreign
Austria, 5 Euro Cent(2004)
Germany, 10 Pfennig(1994-A)
Mexico, 1 Peso(1995, 2001)

1 Roosevelt dime

Oh and I also peeked into the bag of dimes and saw a 1928-S Merc staring at me... hopefully there are more buried, but that's for tomorrow night.

How you can wait with a Merc peeking out is beyond me. You've got some self control!

It was 2 AM and my alarm was set for 6 AM as I had a 7 AM meeting this morning. Not much choice if I wanted to sleep.

So you still up... ;D

Maybe the attached picture will help explain why its easy to sleep, it's what I have left to search after the bag of dimes was searched last night. And I know of at least a 1914 wheat in one bag and a 1918 wheat in another as I saw them through the plastic. I've had those bags for almost 3 weeks now and I have never been able to get to them as the plastic ones are last.

The bag of dimes didn't produce much else, here's the total list.

1 Mercury (1928-S Small Mintmark)
1 pre-1965 Roosevelt (1963-D)

7 Canadian (1968 Silver, 1968 Nickel, 1971, 1974, 1977, 1987, 1995)

Also got 4 quarters and 3 pennies

Did the other $200 bag of nickels.

At least half of it had been previously searched judging by the fact that about halfway through I had only 1 pre-1960 nickel, the second half was better.

Ended up with
1 - 1944-D War Nickel <--first of this one for 2007

and 19 other pre-1960 Jefferson(1939, 1940(3), 1946, 1947, 1948-S, 1949, 1951-D, 1952-S, 1953-D, 1953-S, 1955-D, 1956, 1956-D, 1957-D, 1958-D(2), 1959-D)

12 Canadian (1965, 1972, 1985(3), 1986(2), 1987(2), 1990, 1993, 1999)

With the 1944-D found, I have completed a set of the silver nickels in 2007 and am now down to 3 nickels left to complete the Jefferson circulated nickel set from circulation in 2007 (1938-Present). Only the 1938-D, 1938-S, and 1950-D are left.

That's awesome about the silver nickels! I have only eight to go, 3 keys 1938D, 1939S, and 1949S, and 5 War time, 1942S, 1943D, 1943S, 1944S, and 1945D. The P War time nickels are quite plentiful here in the northeast, but those D's and S's have been tough to find.

Can't wait to finish the nickels. That'll be a great day and I'll have more time to devote to quarters and dimes.

Sure wish I could find bags. The trash or all these wrappers and boxes is ridiculous!

+++ Found 9 Buffaloes so far this year, last night a box produced two 1925 Buffaloes.

Penny bag #1 done.

decent quantity, pretty good mix.

26 wheat pennies (1934, 1936, 1941-D, 1944(2), 1944-D(3), 1945-D, 1945-S, 1946, 1947-S, 1951-D, 1953-D(2), 1953-S, 1956, 1956-D(2), 1957(2), 1957-D(2), 1958-D(3))

17 Canadian (1967, 1970, 1978(2), 1982, 1984(3), 1987, 1992, 1993(2), 2000, 2001, 2005(2), 2006)

I am going for a roll of each date/mintmark + fill up the folders I have so I have a long way to go to finish the Jefferson nickels as I usually only get 3-5 that I still need from each $200 bag and I still need around 750 nickels. On a more positive note, I am over 88% complete.

It also means the searching goes quite a bit quick since there are no wrappers to open.

You are an animal Gman!!!
I would be blind if I searched half the coins you look at in a week!!!

I love it!

Finished the last penny bag today....also posting the other penny bags even though I am pretty sure they are posted somewhere else.

Hoo-whee! Your wheat total is staggering GMan. You're averaging seven a day. If you keep it up you'll come close to 3000 in one year!!

and Immy wants to call ME squinty? Fun to have something to search but I'm gonna try to make sure I have plenty of halves haha. WTG Gman, Mark

Uhh...Yup.

I have no problem reading the dates, so I don't have to squint.
