Hard to really say. Probably lean towards no because it's a lot more likely to dig a brass one, and more towards no if the shank is/was pewter.

Other than water and a tooth brush not much you can do

Dig until your arm falls off

I'm going with Civvy. No way of cleaning but you better stop it from turning into dust.

EDTA..Ethelyne Diamine Tetra Acetic Acid can be used to treat Pewter that has compact and surface corrosion, but that one might be a bit far gone :dontknow: so nothing to lose really.
